Last week, Governor Walz stated all elementary students in the state should return to in-person learning by mid-January. State Senator Rich Draheim of Madison Lake says all healthy kids need to be back in school.

“There’s a lot of kids out there that are suffering emotionally,” said Draheim. “Kids need social interaction. Many kids consider school and the activities related to school are the highlights of their day.”

Draheim says the teachers are doing the best they can, but students aren’t learning as much in a virtual setting as they would with in-person instruction.
