(Bloomington, MN) — A settlement is in place between the Mall of American and the family of a boy who was injured after being thrown off a balcony at the mall by a stranger. Representatives of the family say the mall will be working closely with the family on safety improvements at the center, but that the terms of the settlement are confidential. Five-year-old Landen suffered head trauma and multiple broken bones during the attack by Emmanuel Aranda, who is now serving a 19-year prison sentence. GoFundMe updates indicate that Landen is walking well and continues to have a long road to physical and emotional recovery.
