A lengthy snow emergency has been declared for the City of Eagle Lake. While the snow emergency is in effect, parking is prohibited on all city streets as well as county roads within city limits, and city officials say vehicles that remain on streets and roads will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense. The snow emergency will be in effect until noon on Sunday.

In New Ulm, a snow emergency has been declared for Monday morning from 1:30 a.m. until all of the snow is removed, and cars left on the signed downtown snow emergency route will be tagged and towed. Overnight parking is available in the parking lot at 3rd North and German Street, and in the City Hall parking lot.

Mankato City officials expect that a snow emergency will be called sometime over the weekend, and they caution people to keep an eye on the situation. The city sends text alerts, which people can sign up to receive on the city’s website, and even has a Facebook page dedicated to snow emergencies.
