A couple of area road projects get underway early next week.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says drivers can expect delays Monday on Highway 93 from Highway 169 to the Minnesota River Bridge near Le Sueur as crews seal coat the road.

If the weather cooperates, the work will move to Highway 5 from Green Isle to Gaylord Tuesday through Thursday.

Highway 93 and Highway 5 traffic may encounter loose rock on the road and should anticipate lane closures during operations. Traffic will be controlled with a pilot car and flaggers.

MnDOT urges motorists to slow down, drive with caution and watch for workers, equipment and traffic control devices.

In Mankato on Tuesday, Adams Street between Cree Court and Raintree Road and Bassett Drive between Belle Avenue and State Highway 22 will close for road construction. City officials say the road is expected to reopen at the end of September.
