Governor Walz said Wednesday all elementary students in the state should return to in-person classes by January 18th. If getting, students back in the classroom is a goal, should teachers be towards the front of the line when it comes to receiving a COVID-19 vaccine? The question was asked of the Governor.
“Teachers are 1B, which put them right after health-care workers and long-term care facility residents,” said Walz. “That means they’ll be towards the front of the line. Of course, we’ll be dependent on the federal government and the manufactures.”
While Wednesday’s announcement focused on elementary students, some Republican lawmakers said all students should return to in-person instruction.
