The Spring Lake Park Swim Facility in North Mankato will open next week. North Mankato city manager John Harrenstein says they’re happy to provide area residents the opportunity for some summer fun.
“With so many summer activities being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were happy the Governor provided guidance to allow this happen,” said Harrenstein. “This will give folks a sense of normalcy.”
Katie Heintz with the city of North Mankato says a lot of hard work went into getting the pool open.
“This has been a really long process,” said Heintz. “We wanted to keep the community safe but we also wanted to be able to offer such a great facility for families to enjoy throughout the summer.”
The pool will open next Wednesday, June 17th for North Mankato residents and season pass holders at a capacity of 250 people at a time. The city says beginning June 20th, the facility will be open to all area residents and there will be a gradual increase in capacity. Heintz says updates will be provided at swimnorthmankato.com.
