(Foley, MN) — A St. Joseph man is going to prison for beating his girlfriend’s baby to death in her central Minnesota home more than two years ago. James Wood was recently sentenced to 25 years behind bars in Benton County Court. The 39-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to second-degree unintentional murder in connection with the 2018 death of seven-month-old Noah Belgarde. Wood will serve 14 years of his sentence in prison and the rest on supervised release.
