A St. Paul man is accused of beating a woman who tried to end their relationship.
Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Deputies say the victim texted a friend, saying that 37-year-old Spencer Anderson had punched her in the face several times and she was afraid for her safety. The friend then called the police.
Investigators say the evidence includes photos of the woman’s face showing swelling and a black eye. She told deputies that Anderson threw her to the ground, sat on her, and punched her about seven times in the face after she told him she was leaving him. She was left unconscious but told deputies she wasn’t sure how long she was out. The victim says she woke lying on the lawn and then went back into the camper she was staying in.
Anderson was arrested and is facing three felony assault charges. Court documents show prior convictions of domestic assault and fifth-degree assault within the past ten years.
