A 23-year-old St. Peter man is facing preliminary charges of stalking and violating a restraining order connected to repeat harassment of a Minnesota State University – Mankato student.

Rylan Anderson of St. Peter is facing preliminary charges of stalking and violating a restraining order.

Mankato Police were called to campus Tuesday, and the victim told them that a classmate, Rylan Anderson, had been continuously texting and contacting her despite being told to stop and had showed up at her apartment. The no-contact order was put in place last August, and, among other things, required him to stay at least 100 feet from her apartment.

In an interview, investigators say Anderson admitted that he was aware of the restraining order, and claimed he had only walked through the housing complex to go to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

He claimed he didn’t know where the victim lived, but the criminal complaint shows she told police he showed up there on the day she was moving in.
