State lawmakers reconvene today to take up a bill addressing workers’ compensation claims for first responders, police, firefighters and health care workers–including home health care workers–who contract COVID-19. Max Hall with AFSCME Council 5 says the bill is meant for…

“Employees that contract COVID-19 or have anybody else in their immediate family that may contract COVID-19, as a result of their work and their front-line status of their employment what it would do is it would presume that that COIVD-19 was contracted through their work given that they’re on the front lines.”

The bill has bipartisan support and the support of Governor Tim Walz.
