Authorities have arrested the primary suspect in the robbery of the Le Hillier Quick Mart early Tuesday morning.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office reports 22-year old Clayton William Vaughn of Aurora, Illinois was taken into custody on Wednesday evening. A joint investigation led to the arrest of Vaughn in the Aurora area, he was also reportedly the driver of a Cadillac CTS that fled the scene of the convenience store robbery.

During a pursuit of the Cadillac, the vehicle crashed north of Saint Clair near the intersection of County Road 90 and Highway 83. Vaughn fled the scene, but Deputies were able to arrest a passenger in the vehicle, 26-year old Mitch Kenneth Rexford of North Aurora, Illinois. He is behind bars in Blue Earth County and is charged with Aiding and Abetting Aggravated Robbery.

Vaughn is currently in custody in Illinois and faces charges locally for the robbery and pursuit.

Both men are suspected of being involved in other robberies in Illinois.
