Things I’ve Noticed

By |2020-06-29T07:09:05-05:00June 29th, 2020|

I saw my 2 y/o niece over the weekend, dang if those young kids do everything you do. A special sorry to my sister. Sunscreen is an important accessory when attending outdoor weddings this summer. Aloe is also an appropriate massage oil. Every time I check my pockets for my wallet, keys, and phone, I do 25% of the Macarena. I've noticed this Saturday is 4th of July, Independence Day. for the first time in 15 years, I do not work one single event on the 4th... and I HAVE NO PLANS. Sadly, this is what keeps me up at night. [...]

Stressed-Out States

By |2020-03-31T10:48:15-05:00March 31st, 2020|

Everyone's stressed about the coronavirus right now, and all the rippling effects it's had. But here's a more general look at America's stress levels. WalletHub just put out its annual list of the most stressed-out states in America. And they did factor in SOME coronavirus stats. But it's not really a snapshot of today. If it was, New York would be a lot higher than 18th place. Each year, they look at 41 different metrics across four categories: Health, money, work, and family-related stress. So everything from income and job security to divorce rates and childcare issues. According to the results, [...]

Most Popular Valentine’s Day Candy in Every State

By |2020-02-10T07:35:30-06:00February 10th, 2020|

This is the hard-hitting news I need - are you in step what the rest of Minnesota? CandyStore.com just released the results of a study that found the most popular Valentine's Day candy in every state. The results are based on 12 years of sales data, so they're working with serious sample size. And heart-shaped boxes of chocolates won Minnesota and the most states overall, with 18 states plus Washington D.C. Conversation hearts came in second, winning 14 states. But their popularity has gone off a cliff in the past few years. Conversation hearts weren't on sale last year, and this [...]

Super Bowl Commercials

By |2020-01-30T07:03:07-06:00January 30th, 2020|

There is a fight brewing in the Hot 96.7  studio, the morning show is split down the middle as APPARENTLY Cari thinks it's ok to watch Super Bowl commercials before the Super Bowl! I am beside myself with embarrassment for the Big Hot Morning Show as we deal with a member who chooses to do things so out of sorts. Super Bowl importance is as such:  FOOD > Game > Commercials Yes, the commercials are our favorite part, but they wouldn't happen without the big game, so it's a total egg before the chicken situation. Now the unwritten rule is Super [...]

What’s Every State’s Least Favorite State?

By |2020-01-21T08:26:39-06:00January 21st, 2020|

State-versus-state rivalries are a VERY real thing! A writer recently polled his 320,000 Instagram followers and asked them to name their state's least favorite state. And he got enough responses to draw conclusions for 49 out of 50 states . . . only Hawaii couldn't come up with a rival. Other things we learned, no one hates Minnesota! And we hate Wisconsin more than Iowa. Here are four highlights from what he found: 1. California has the most states that hate it, with nine . . . basically every other state in the Pacific or Mountain time zones. And for what [...]

Front Step Package Thieves

By |2019-12-17T09:08:58-06:00December 17th, 2019|

First of all, are we really calling these criminals "porch pirates"?   Ok. Well a story from St. Paul where a resident had a gift taken from their doorstep by a terrible person during the holidays, aka "porch pirate". It happened on Thursday, December 12 while at work, the thief not only stole their package but they also left a thank you note to rub it in. Yeah, they legit left a note saying "Thank you for the opportunity of stealing your package." The thief then signed the note, "The new owner of your package." This kind of thief is truly disgusting, [...]

Minnesota is a Smart State!

By |2019-11-25T07:50:09-06:00November 25th, 2019|

So smart people did a study last year found two-thirds of Americans think they're smarter than the average person which isn't mathematically possible. But hey, whatever keeps your ego intact . . . Now a NEW study looked at how smart people are indifferent STATES, by going through high school and college graduation rates, and average SAT and ACT scores. Whether that's a true measure of intelligence is debatable. But according to the study, the smartest state in the U.S. is New Jersey. And the dumbest state is Idaho. New Jersey just edged out Utah for first place. The ten smartest [...]
