Remains of missing Sleepy Eye man possibly found on Sunday

Authorities in Brown County say a citizen using a rest area on Highway 4 near the Cottonwood River may have found the remains of a Sleepy Eye man that has been missing for nearly two months. Around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, the Brown County Sheriff's Office was contacted after the person observed a gun, clothing and what appeared to be bone. Investigators processed the scene and discovered a revolver, human bone remains, blue jeans, red t-shirt, work boots, a watch, eyeglasses and a drivers license belonging to 73-year old Vincent Hugo Mathiowetz. Blue Earth County Sheriff's Officials have called off search efforts north of Saint Clair to find a suspect involved in a robbery at the Le Hillier Quick Mart around 1:56 a.m. Tuesday. According to the report, a male entered the store wearing a mask and displayed a blunt object, he then fled the scene after obtaining cash. Minnesota BCA joins Mankato Police in search for missing Mankato woman

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has joined the search for a missing Mankato woman. Mankato Police report they are still actively searching for 46-year Wendy Lynn Khan who was last heard from by family on June 1. Missing Mankato woman 46-year-old Wendy Khan. The BCA and Mankato Police began examining Khan's west Mankato residence on Thursday for any items that may lead to her whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to call 911.

Sleepy Eye man still missing after search, Authorities to continue efforts on Thursday

Brown County Authorities report a missing Sleepy Eye man has still not been located after further search efforts on Wednesday. According to the report, Deputies and K-9 tracking dogs concentrated efforts approximately 3-1/2 miles south of Sleepy Eye and the Cottonwood River to search for 73-year old Vincent Hugo Mathiowetz who went missing on Sunday. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is asking for the public's assistance to locate a missing 2-year old child from Camden, South Carolina, that may be in Minnesota. According to the report, Dakota Ray was last seen on April 15 after being taken by her parents, 44-year old William Ray and 36-year old Jessica Ray. Authorities say the parents are believed to be heavy methamphetamine users and law enforcement are concerned about the child's wellbeing. The Waseca County Sheriffs Office is asking for the publics help to locate a New Richland teen who has been missing since Tuesday. According to the report, 16-year old Grace Cummins was seen getting into a blue semi-truck after school. The truck-driver then dropped her off in Albert Lea near Highway 13 and West Main Street. 16-year old Grace Cummins. Missing Mankato woman found in Iowa

A missing Mankato woman was located on Friday night after disappearing more than two weeks ago. Mankato Police report Morgan Stolle has been reunited with family after police in West Des Moines, Iowa located the woman. Authorities say she was with two friends and all were safe. Stolee was reported missing earlier this month after Police said she abruptly left work around 10 p.m. on February 7. No word yet on why contact was not made. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted in the investigation.
