Minnesota's second busiest airport is slated to see 34-million dollars in repairs and improvements over the next 10 years. Organizers held an open house on Tuesday at the Mankato Regional Airport to discuss a Master Plan that will layout the next 20 years for the airport. Port Authority approves loan to NextGen RF Design for assistance in relocating to North Mankato

A radio frequency research and product development company based in Waseca is moving to North Mankato and the business says it will open doors for new opportunities. The North Mankato Port Authority approved a business subsidy loan of 300-thousand dollars on Monday night to NextGen RF Design, Inc. Members approved the loan to be repaid over 15-years with an interest rate of 4-percent. MSU's Ted Paul Theatre will undergo a renovation this summer using a half-million dollars in private funding to improve accessibility and make the experience of catching a show more comfortable. Mankato Officer taken to the hospital following crash near MSU

A Mankato Police Officer was injured in a crash over the noon hour on Tuesday near the MSU-Mankato campus.  According to the report, the accident occurred on Stadium Road, just west of Warren Street at 12:39 p.m. The Minnesota State Patrol reports 35-year old Officer Grant Mitchell Christensen of Mankato was making a u-turn to initiate a traffic stop when a Honda Odyssey struck his squad vehicle.
