Today through July 1, the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office is stepping up enforcement of boaters under the influence of alcohol on surrounding lakes and rivers. During the national Operation Dry Water campaign, law enforcement will focus on educating boaters about safety and enforcing the state's boating under the influence laws. It is illegal in Minnesota to operate a boat with an alcohol concentration level of .08 or higher.
