The state's manufacturers are upbeat about the economy, with 95-percent expecting production levels to increase or stay the same in 2018. "What a lot of people might not know is that manufacturing is Minnesota's largest industry by gross domestic product. Manufacturing supports about 318-thousand jobs in Minnesota and it contributes about 48-billion dollars to the state's economy," said Shane Delaney with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The vast majority of manufacturers also expect employment levels to increase or stay the same in the coming year.
