Minnesota seniors prepare for Medicare plan shift

An estimated 320,000 seniors across Minnesota will need to change Medicare health plans in the coming months. Residents with Medicare Cost health plans have to switch because of a federal law eliminating the policy next year in most of the state. The 2003 law says Medicare Cost plans can't be offered in areas with significant competition from Medicare Advantage plans. Congress delayed the law's implementation until 2019. Blue Earth County Road 1 project to start in late May

After plans were placed on hold last year, Blue Earth County is picking back up on a major project to reconstruct County Road 1 from the Mankato city limits to County Road 90. MNsure boasts 116K signups in record year

Minnesota's health insurance exchange says it enrolled more than 116,000 residents in plans this year. MNsure announced its record level of signups for the individual market on Wednesday. It comes days after open enrollment ended Sunday in Minnesota. The exchange's high watermark showcases the flexibility of a state-based exchange amid cuts to the health care law at the federal level.
