A Nicollet woman has been charged for allegedly trying to pass counterfeit bills, a trend that has been on the rise according to the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office.  Court Documents say 41-year old Jodie Marie Carlson attempted to pass two 100-dollar counterfeit bills at the Cabin Bar in Nicollet on April 30. Investigators discovered that Carlson passed the currency and received 200-dollars worth of 20-dollar bills from the establishment. Carlson is charged with one count of Gross Misdemeanor Possession of Counterfeit Currency. The Sheriff's Office is warning businesses to be vigilant in checking currency to make sure it is authentic.
