A new layout and amenities will greet music fans this Friday for the first show of the season at Vetter Stone Amphitheater in Mankato. Surdy to run for Ward 5 seat on Mankato City Council

West Mankato resident Taryn Surdy has announced she intends to run for the Ward 5 seat on the Mankato City Council. Surdy made the announcement on Monday and expressed interest in pushing for environmental sustainability, having oversight of planning and zoning issues along with supporting working class neighborhoods. The Waseca native currently works as a school-linked Mental Health Practitioner in Waseca County. She was appointed to the Mankato Public Safety Committee in 2017. Current councilmember Trudy Kunkel has indicated that she won't run for re-election for the Ward 5 seat.
