The issue of school safety has been on the minds of some families and officials in the Mankato Metro after last weeks shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida. Report of shots fired at Casey’s Store in St. James, one person injured

One person is in custody and another person was injured after a shooting at a convenience store in St. James. The St. James Plaindealer reports shots were fired and one person received medical attention on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities later apprehended a female and transported the woman to the Watonwan County Jail. Just before 2 p.m., scanner audio indicated that a person was locked in the bathroom in Casey's General Store at 620 2nd Avenue South. The St. James Police Department tells KTOE News that information on the incident will be released at a later time.
