Yesterday, during the Student Take Over portion of my show, I told you all about a St. Paul college student named Jayson Gonzalez who had been ordered a cease and desist from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. He was driving to the nearest Krispy Kreme in Clive, Iowa, buying up as many boxes as his car could hold, and returning to Minnesota and selling them for a profit. Hockey Town: Mankato ranked 4th best in America

A new study by SmartAsset ranks Mankato as the fourth best hockey town in America. According to data crunched by the organization, 9.5-percent of the town’s population turns out for the average Mavericks game which ranks in the top 25. Home to Minnesota State Maverick hockey, the city had the sixth highest Google search activity for the word "hockey" in the study. Data also factoring into the ranking included Mankato's unemployment rate, which was the eleventh lowest. Minnesota gained 8,900 jobs in December as State saw 1.5% growth in 2017

The State experienced a large increase in jobs in December as employers added a reported 8,900 jobs, according to the latest figures from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Construction led all sectors last month with 5,700 new jobs, while the professional and business services sector was down 1,400 jobs.  Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in December was 3.1-percent, down slightly from the revised rate of 3.2-percent in November and the lowest level since July 2000.
