New Hy-Vee approved, roundabouts in the works in Mankato

The City of Mankato has approved a number of hurdles to allow the development of an 8-thousand square foot Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh at the corner of Heron Drive and Stadium Road. The property is designated as a wetland but has been rezoned to Community Business and the final plat was approved for the new building that will include a drive-thru along with six gas pumps. Mankato Officer taken to the hospital following crash near MSU

A Mankato Police Officer was injured in a crash over the noon hour on Tuesday near the MSU-Mankato campus.  According to the report, the accident occurred on Stadium Road, just west of Warren Street at 12:39 p.m. The Minnesota State Patrol reports 35-year old Officer Grant Mitchell Christensen of Mankato was making a u-turn to initiate a traffic stop when a Honda Odyssey struck his squad vehicle. Christensen suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato.
