The Education Minnesota teachers union is asking all Minnesota school districts to follow C-D-C and state Health Department guidelines on masking, testing, social distancing and vaccinations — for students, teachers and staff.  It’s prompted by the COVID death of a third staff member, only about a month into the school year.  Teachers union President Denise Specht:

“We’re just seeing that there are way too many sick people in our school buildings.  We see too many school buildings that aren’t following best practices to control the virus.   And, to be perfectly blunt, we have too many people dying.”

Debate over mask and vaccination requirements has been heated in a number of Minnesota school districts, at least one meeting resulting in a physical altercation.
