I can’t afford a 25 cent gumball, thanks college, yet I screamed when I heard the news. Yesterday (Nov. 7) Vogue announced the theme of this year’s Met Gala. The theme is About Time: Fashion and Duration.
2020 marks a monumental year for the Met. It will be the 150th anniversary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. So how does one honor 150 glamorous, inspiring, show-stopping years? Other than throwing one of the most exclusive galas that is. Maybe by having actress Emma Stone, Actor /composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, actress/should be royalty Meryl Streep, Luis Vuitton artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, and of course Editor in Cheif of Vogue Anna Wintour.
The exhibit itself will represent the connection that fashion and time have. This will be reflected through the display of fashion pieces over the last century and a half.
I personally can not wait to see the outfits that people show up in. Iw ant to see a mix of 1870 and 1970 all in one! I want to see the ruching and bustle of the 1870’s mixed with the sequins and feathers of the 1970’s!
I can wait to see what Zendaya and Blake Lively wear!
