(Perham, MN) — The FDA is recalling some Tuffy’s Pet Foods cans due to high levels of vitamin D. Roughly 16-hundred cases of Pure Vita Salmon Entree Dog Food are believed to be affected. The cans of dog food were sold at stores across the country in a Tetrapak carton. Consumers are advised to return the product to the store where they purchased it for a full refund. There have been no reports of illness or injury. Too much vitamin D can cause health issues in dogs like vomiting, loss of appetite, dehydration, excessive drooling and kidney failure.
