(Morrison County, MN) — Two local construction companies are agreeing to pay 54-thousand dollars in back wages to workers for a Minnesota-funded project. The state Department of Labor Industry announced that Azure Construction Inc. of Detroit Lakes and Western Products Inc. of Moorhead both agreed to the deal. Those back wages relate to the roof replacement project at the Minnesota National Guard’s Camp Ripley in 2018 and 2019. Officials say the companies “misclassified” workers which resulted in them being paid less than the prevailing wage rate. The DLI is responsible for setting that rate.
