Two separate motorcycle accidents hospitalized riders in the area Thursday morning.

The first, at around 6:30 a.m., occurred in St. Clair when Minnesota State Patrol says a 15-year-old rider pulled away from the stop sign at County Road 15 and Highway 83 and hit a dump truck. The bike was then run over by a car driven by 19-year-old Tate Oftedahl of Pemberton.

Oftedahl was not hurt but the unnamed 15-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized. No details of his condition were released. Nobody in the dump truck was injured.

Just before 9:00 a.m. a 61-year-old Trimont man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 169. Troopers say Ronald Shade was northbound on Highway 169 at Riverfront Drive when he lost control of the bike while trying to change lanes and flipped. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
