Greater Mankato Area United Way has set its loftiest fundraising goal yet as it kicks off the 2020 campaign this August with events throughout the region, including the Tug of War in Mankato (August 14) and the second annual Ride United Motorcycle Run (August 3).

United Way looks to raise $2,060,000 for 55 programs within 36 agencies throughout Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Nicollet and Waseca counties. United Way programs serve more than 50,000 people each year. All programs that apply for funding are reviewed and vetted annually by more than 80 community volunteers.

According to United Way CEO Barb Kaus, the campaign goal is growing because the needs throughout the region continue to grow.

Greater Mankato Area United Way will hold campaign kickoffs in Mankato, St. Peter and Waseca, along with two new sites: Le Sueur and Lake Crystal. Its 10th annual Women with Heart Luncheon (August 7) gives women in the region the opportunity to make an impact through the new campaign.
