State Representative Ron Kresha, Republican from Little Falls, accuses Governor Tim Walz of disregarding school districts’ creative solutions when he issued a strong advisory against traditional graduation ceremonies this spring:

“One school district was considering using their… (drive-in) movie theater in a town. Another school district… would use the parking lot if the weather was bad, or they would spread everybody out on their football field and make sure there was proper distancing.”

The governor responds:

“This pains me like all of these decisions do…I get it, that there’s a lot of folks (who) don’t believe we need to have social distancing, we don’t need to wear masks, but I need to listen to the health experts on this.”
