We’ll find out later this morning (about 11am) whether Minnesota logs five days in a row with fewer than two thousand new COVID cases per day. State Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says the drop has been “very significant and very, very welcome” — however…

“We’re still at extremely high levels of cases, comparatively-speaking.”

Malcolm says Minnesota still ranks very high nationally in the number of new cases per day, per 100-thousand people. Officials say they know it’s difficult over the holidays, but this is *no* time for Minnesotans to ease back on COVID precautions.
