A Wisconsin man is in the Blue Earth County Jail on preliminary charges of soliciting sex and theft, after a paid date with a Mankato man went awry Tuesday night.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel said officers were originally called on a theft complaint, “And it turns out that an individual had solicited online for services and these two individuals met. When it come time to pay the other individual the person did not have the funds available to make payment.”

Schisel said 35-year-old Robrese Carter of Milwaukee took a pair of glasses belonging to the other man when he didn’t get the expected payment for his services.

The 22-year-old man involved could also face charges.
