A domestic disturbance at a Mankato motel sent a 35-year-old to jail on charges of drug possession, two counts of domestic assault, and criminal property damage.

The victim told Mankato Police that her boyfriend of six years, Nicholas Thimesch, was on probation for drunk driving and was not supposed to be drinking alcohol, but began drinking the day before and was highly intoxicated and belligerent. She said she asked hotel staff to remove him, but they replied they had no legal reason to evict him but the clerk did call 9-1-1.

As the woman was hanging up the phone, the criminal complaint shows that Thimesch shoved her with both hands into a window, which shattered around the victim, and then he left the motel.

A few hours later police say Thimesch returned and began screaming at the woman in the parking lot. He was arrested, and a pill was found in his pocket which turned out to be a controlled substance. A portable breath test registered point-2-3-8, and Thimesch was taken to detox because of his high level of intoxication.

Court documents show he has several previous drug and domestic assault arrests and convictions.
