(Minneapolis, MN) — History has been made as women now hold all chief judge seats on Minnesota’s appellate and executive branch courts. This follows the unanimous vote announced Tuesday allowing Wendy S. Tien to become chief judge of the state Tax Court. Tien joins Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie Gildea, Court of Appeals Chief Judge Susan Segal, Office of Administrative Hearings Chief Judge Jenny Starr, and Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals Chief Judge Patricia Milun. Both the governor and lieutenant governor said this historic representation will mean a better democracy for all.
