Things I’ve Noticed

This roundabout painting thing overnight shouldn't be as much pain as it has been.... am I wrong? New babies are very exciting! I was very happy to see my sister Sunday and my new nephew... but a week old baby does only a few tricks... eat, sleep, and poop. So I held him for twenty minutes or so and then was like okay... Maybe I'm a jerk? Fun days are always a blast, so glad that it took place this weekend. Hopefully, everyone got out and enjoyed it. Noticed it's already halfway point of summer, Major League baseball's All-Star break is [...]

26% of Thank Yous Are Insincere

By |2021-07-06T11:24:13-05:00July 6th, 2021|

The U.K. celebrates "Thank You Day" on July 4th . . . just as America is celebrating its Independence Day. So British researchers conducted a study on how and when we show our appreciation . . . and there are some interesting findings. For starters, the average adult will say "thank you" 207 times a month, which is roughly 6.8 times per day.  That's a lot of gratitude . . . but some of it is FAKE. On average, 54 of those thank yous are insincere.  That's 26%. About a quarter of people surveyed think that's a problem . . . [...]

Radio!!!!

Someone asked 2,000 people what they DIDN'T miss while working from home . . . and the top answer was small talk. One in three people were happy they didn't have to be chatty at work . . . 31% liked that they didn't have to look presentable . . . and 27% didn't miss battling TRAFFIC every day. 58% of people DID miss some aspects of their commute, though. And the top thing people missed about it was what you're doing RIGHT NOW. Over half said they really missed listening to the RADIO or podcasts . . . and 55% [...]

Things I’ve Noticed

By |2021-06-28T07:19:31-05:00June 28th, 2021|

Very few people complained about the rain this weekend. Most still went and did their things... including running! I made my way onto the bike path again this weekend. I noticed most people only using one earbud so they can hear me coming... and to the one guy who was scared when I rode past him after yelling I'm coming up the left side... sorry, not sorry. I noticed the only reason I was friends with some people in high school was that I saw them 5 days a week. It should be socially acceptable to be able to turn off [...]

By |2021-06-22T08:30:19-05:00June 22nd, 2021|

If you've had a first date go south, there's a chance it was because you ordered the WRONG MEAL. A new survey asked what foods were best to order on a first date. Pizza came out on top . . . followed by burgers, salad, steak, and ice cream.  The rest of the top 10 was:  A roast dinner, lasagna, chicken wings, stir fry, and a chocolate brownie. Oysters were named the #1 food to AVOID on a first date . . . followed by mussels, sushi, crab, lobster, curry, tuna steak, prawns, ribs, and corn on the cob. It's interesting [...]

Things I’ve Noticed

Heard two guys complaining about the graduating class this year, and made me think that 10,000 years ago, two cavemen were definitely sitting around complaining about how soft the younger generation of cavemen were for cooking their food. I'm convinced after Sunday, mother nature doesn't like giving us what we want. As all the rain kept going around Kato... all day! I notice this with every mother or father's day... if you don't tell them on social media, do you even love your parents? If you live every day like it's your last, you'll never have clean clothes because nobody wants [...]

By |2021-06-16T07:37:23-05:00June 16th, 2021|

Most of us know the feeling of looking at a wedding registry and seeing if there's an option to SORT BY PRICE.  Look, we all love our friends . . . but why do we have to buy them a $900 vacuum? Well, be thankful that you don't know THIS bride. A woman posted a gift list on Facebook, which was packed with luxury items, including:  "Gucci or Louis Vuitton purses . . . new floor tiles for the entire house . . . a new car . . . any 'HIGH CLASS' paintings or decorations . . . $400 in [...]

The Most Stressed-Out Workers in the World

By |2021-06-16T07:00:54-05:00June 16th, 2021|

I guess even doing our jobs from the couch for a full year didn't make us more relaxed at work.  Because a new Gallup poll found America has some of the most STRESSED-OUT workers in the world. They broke it down by region, not by country.  So they lumped the U.S. and Canada together.  And overall, 57% said that a significant part of their workday is stressful.  That's the highest in the world.  The global average is 43%, and it's only 39% in Europe. It also found women deal with more on-the-job stress every day . . . 62% said yes, compared to [...]

Things I’ve Noticed

By |2021-06-14T07:25:39-05:00June 14th, 2021|

Those who complain about the cold in the winter, better not be saying a thing these past weeks. Although not as hot, the heat continues this week. It was a perfect Summer weekend, outdoor festivals, live music at Vetterstone, plenty of time on the motorcycle, baseball, and I watched two went almost get into a fight over pie and onion rings! I've thought about this a lot, Nasa can control a helicopter on Mars, and yet I lose wifi when I go into the kitchen Whoever created the tradition of not seeing the bride in the wedding dress beforehand saved countless [...]
