Britney Spears is set to see a judge next month over her conservatorship that was enacted in 2008. According to a claim made by TMZ, the pop icon will not be asking for an end to her conservatorship.
Allegedly, she does not feel trapped in the conservatorship and instead understands why it was put in place. “She has 99% of the freedom she’d have if she weren’t in a conservatorship, and the only thing she’s prevented from doing are crazy things, like buying 3 cars at a time [something she tried to do back in the day],” a source told the outlet. TMZ’s source claims Britney felt her life was “out of control” before she was placed in the conservatorship. “She’s taken care of and she knows it.”
Instead of asking for her conservatorship to be lifted, she is asking that her father, Jamie Spears, be removed as the conservator. He has already been replaced as her permanent personal conservator, but Spears will request that the judge remove him from all business and financial decisions and affairs from here on out. Until the change is made, the pop icon is refusing to record any new music or perform.
