The latest “Click it or Ticket” campaign shows not all Minnesotans are buckling up. During the two-week extra enforcement wave officers, deputies and troopers reported 2,664 seatbelt citations and 64 child seat violations. Minnesota State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow:
“If you’re giving somebody a ride remind them to put that seatbelt on. If you’re the passenger and notice the drivers not buckling up give them a friendly reminder that’s how we take care of each other.”
Grabow says traffic fatalities are up this year. At last check, nearly 300 people have lost their lives on Minnesota roads. Of those 68 involved unbelted motorists.
