Flu season is officially underway in Minnesota. The state Department of Health released its first weekly influenza activity report.

Two people have been hospitalized with the flu so far this season. There is one flu outbreak in Minnesota schools and zero in the state’s nursing homes. No influenza deaths have been reported. State Health officials say influenza B is the most common strain. The latest numbers show a 42-percent in the number of Minnesotans get a flu shot this fall compared to this time last season.
