More than a dozen leaders in the manufacturing industry in central Minnesota joined officials with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development this week virtually on what challenges they’re facing. A common theme is the difficulty in recruiting skilled workers to enter the manufacturing sector. Many of the business leaders told DEED Commissioner Steve Grove that the state needs to provide some resources to manufacturers. One of those efforts is to better work with schools and younger kids to show them the technology and robotics that are part of today’s manufacturing.
