Will this year’s drought have an impact on the pheasant season?  The DNR’s James Burnham:

“You know I’m not hearing a whole lot of negative impacts from the drought with the birds too much just yet. That may change as people get out pounding the fields and hitting the ground.”

Burnham thinks the biggest effect might actually be a benefit due to the drought because of fields having to be plowed under early due to dry conditions. Making birds more visible.
