It’s a dead heat in Minnesota in the race for president, says Carleton College political analyst Steven Schier. He notes the final poll before the 2016 election had Hillary Clinton ahead by 10 points, but she won Minnesota by only one-and-a-half:
“Recent polls we’ve been seeing show that Biden is up by maybe five or six points, so that suggests to me based on what happened in 2016 that this race is up for grabs in Minnesota.”
President Trump will be back Friday afternoon for a rally at Rochester airport. He was in nearby La Crosse, Wisconsin a couple of days ago. There are rumors that Democratic rival Joe Biden or running mate Kamala Harris could return to Minnesota before the election, now only five days away.
